MORE … EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL
The “Fairytale of Music” is a multimedia music-theatric performance in text of Vassiliki Nevrokopli and music by Kyriakos Kalaitzidis. Firstly performed at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, it was production of the Organization Thessaloniki Concert Hall, in the frame of its Educational Programs approved by the Hellenic Ministry of Education.
The educational material is based on the book “The Fairytale of Music” and on the homonymic CD. The Greek edition of the book, illustrated by the awarded illustrator Nikolas Andrikopoulos, was published by Livanis Publications. The CD, containing the narrow of the fairytale with incidental music and all the musical pieces separately, performed by the music ensemble “En Chordais”, was published by the cultural organization En Chordais. Material from the book and the CD is uploaded on the MORE website and it is available to be used for educational purposes.
The educational material is consisted of a) material from the book “The Fairytale of Music” and the homonymous CD, b) indicative educational activities, based on the above material, and c) supporting material for the implementation of the activities and also for independent use.
The activities are based on an intercultural educational approach involving various cognitive fields in a cross-curricular content set-up. They can be applied uncut but they are also indicative allowing the educator to draw inspiration and design his/her own activities adapted to the aims, the objectives, and the features of each students group he addresses. They are formed generally enough to allow the adjustment to a wide range of ages and students cognitive characteristics. Each activity can be extended beyond the fairytale’s limits and adapted to the potential multicultural constitution of the class. Hence, the educator could realize the activities expanding or differentiating the musical instruments, the cities, the countries and the cultures involved.
Some activities require the reading or narrowing of the fairytale, or the former implementation of other activities. It’s up to the educator to make the necessary adjustments in order to realize the activities he prefers in the convenient order.
